What we have come to call “Spiritual Adventures” are conversations about the important things in life, usually sparked by the Bible.
All are welcome, no qualifications necessary. We come from the a wide variety of religious traditions and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a regular member of St. Paul’s to participate.
11a.m. – 12 noon every Wednesday.
Here’s what one of us — ex-nun, ex-teacher, ex-social service manager — thinks about it…
” I really don’t like Bible study. In fact, I have never liked Bible studies and managed to avoid them at St. Paul’s for almost a year. I finally capitulated…
only because some of its most enthusiastic fans told me it really wasn’t Bible study but an experience in “spiritual adventures.”
Now, my curiosity was piqued. I went.
What I found was a core group of people united in their care and concerns for each other, recounting their sincere encounters with “God Sightings”, offering prayers for all needing support, sharing cookies and coffee and fruit and reading scripture passages to ponder and discuss.
They listened, they prayed, they laughed with each other, and they comforted each other.
It wasn’t who was there or what I saw or heard or ate that made the difference for me.
I came back because “heart things” were happening. I came back because something that hadn’t existed for me before was born. I came back to Community.
And this is what I felt and saw….
And so I stayed…
